Madrone Mountain - Artisanal Dessert Wines From Oregon

adrone Mountain is a boutique producer of artisanal dessert wines in the Applegate Valley of Southern Oregon. Situated on benchland in the foothills of the ancient Siskiyou Mountains near the California-Oregon border, we make very limited quantities of hand-crafted fortified red and late harvest white wines rivaling the best in the world.

Both our red and white wines share a common style derived from our philosophy of winemaking which is that the sine qua non of excellence in wine is balance, that elusive point where sweetness and fruit and acidity find equipoise. Beginning with that philosophy, we borrow from the Old World the best, time-tested traditions of winemaking and use them to explore the terroir of the New World unconstrained by tradition and with one goal – to find and express in the glass the essence of the fruit, the soil, the season, the place. Put otherwise, we make wines the way we like them, first because there is nobody to tell us we can't and, second, because it's fun!

Thus, to be didactic, you may find our wines familiar but a bit unconventional. Think of a concerto you know you know but can't quite name. And enjoy the music!
